Politically stable Kazakhstan is the ninth largest country in the world, roughly four times the size of Texas. With a largely urban population of 15 million, it contains significant reserves of copper, uranium and petroleum which in the last ten years have started to open up to western-funded development. One of the largest sediment-hosted copper deposits in the world exists at Zhezkazgan and Sundance management believes that an active exploration program in that country could yield world class copper deposits. Sundance Minerals Ltd. through its Kazakh operating subsidiary, Tien Shan Exploration, has opened an exploration office, staffed by personnel well-experienced in Central Asia and we are poised to apply for prospective target areas within the year 2010.
